Prerequisites
What you need before you subscribe and install your first persona.
Claude Code
Personas are Claude plugins: skills that install into Claude Code and activate when you ask for the kind of work they cover. You need Claude Code installed and working before a persona can do anything for you.
A RolePlugin subscription
Your subscription is what unlocks the personas your plan includes. Without an active subscription you can browse the library, but you cannot install anything through the marketplace, and download buttons will not be available. See Account & billing for plan details.
A GitHub account (marketplace route only)
You only need GitHub if you plan to use the Claude Code marketplace. The marketplace lives in a private repository, and your subscription grants your GitHub account access to it automatically. If you would rather not connect GitHub, use the download route instead, it needs nothing beyond your RolePlugin login.
A free account is enough
A free GitHub account is all the marketplace route needs. You are not asked to pay GitHub for anything, and no code of your own has to live there.
